Day & Night
The concept is made clear by its location, NYC, which is a place where people never sleep.
Occupying both a cafe and a bar in the same place reflects general lifestyles in New York: a cafe in the daytime and a bar at night.
The aesthetic of colors and modern minimalism with vegetation illustrate a “resting spot” like what parks function in NYC. Moreover, “people” and “plants” themselves would work as a part of this place, as silhouettes, maximizing the interpretation of “quiet power” in this city, where it is impossible to maintain a city without them.

Day & Night
Starting by researching the site especially its surroundings for its future concept and concentrating on its renovation.
Gathering our ideas for the overall atmosphere and its concept.
Use of vibrant colors and collaboration with light & shadow was our choice to image our overall concept.
The space will be operated as a cafe and a bar at night.
The overall space will be filled with repurposing the second floor as a hub for multi-purposeful performance,
first floor as a bar/kitchen welcoming our guests,
and cellar as a secret bar area with more privacy.
Shifting the main key colors of light for overall space to hint the transformation of its purpose.
First sketch rendering of first floor, playing with allowed visions and voidness between the users.
Study of the concept of main stair for the first floor connecting to the second floor.
Key pointing the overall characteristic of its concept on the entrance. Visualizing both images of transformation and blending into the neighborhood.
Final image of visualizing the main transformation of the purpose of the space by colors. (Day and Night)
Visualizing main user interactions in the space (first floor).
Perspective visual of second-floor performance space with possible user interactions.
Visual showing the overall cellar atmosphere with a user.
Details of design choices will be portrayed in the packet.
